Hi... the inspection light and clock symbol are permanently illuminated on the dash? I have recently replaced SI batteries and all other functions on the cluster work correctly.
If I carry out the reset procedure with the tool it goes away for a couple of days but it always comes back?
A minor issue I know but it's really bugging me!!!
Any ideas would be great....

Clock symbol light is a simple 12 month timer, which should be affected by nothing other than the passage of time since it was reset.
If you're sure you're resetting it properly, and it has the correct replacement batteries, then the only complete solution is likely to be a change of the SI board.

I've had similar-the oil-service light was always on,even after changing the batteries,so i ended up taking out the s.i. board and snipping through one of the wire legs of the LED.
Only way i could think of to get the dang thing to go out.

Mine is a bit temperamental too. Mostly it stays off until it should, but sometimes it reappears ahead of time.
And this is on a board that was bought new from BMW around 15 years ago (Ok so that's a long time, but it's not the 31 yr old original).
I just reset it every time it comes on. If it gets to the point where it drives me mad, I have located an electronics specialist who claims to repair the boards, I guess there are people capable of saving the huge expense of a BMW supplied board in most countries.

These are sensations as hard to forget as they are to ignore.....
