Hi, I have a 1987 e30 which has cruise control, I have owned thecar for the last 10 years and it did previously work, but it is no longer working is there anything I can do to repair myself. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi there, I can't say I know anything about it but have a look in e30 wiki - the tab is at the top of the page. If you click on all wiki pages you can scroll down and see everything. I found this link in there. Good place to start I'd say.

Hope you manage to get it fixed.

The heart of the system is usually reliable so the problem is likely to be around the peripherals. Clutch switch would be the first thing to check out.

I've had a A3 copy of that diagram printed out for a while now to try and get mine working too.
It looks like a fairly simple system, I figure it's just a case of pinning down where the signals stop with a multimeter (does it reach the ECU? Do commands reach the actuator?) and then replacing whatever proves to be faulty.

My car came with it. Decided one day to make it work, went through the Wiki on here and soon discovered the dash had been changed and the green plug left out. Bought another, fitted and now works a treat!

The green plug and socket are a luxury anyway. The wire will just push into the hole on any cluster.Partridge wrote:My car came with it.
