Well done Miles, sounds like your enjoying yourself. I was actually only about 20mins from the circuit so was going to try and pop over to say hi, but couldn't get away from a family visit

http://www.deutschefest.co.uk/ Zoners by all means if you're there come and see the legendary car! We'll be racing but probably only at the circuit on the Sunday as there's nothing on for us Saturday. We'll probably watch some cars and bugger off for the day
Anyhooo... it's our 4th weekend of racing EVER. Aiming to make it 6 races complete, which has a special significance if all goes well. Last time we were at Brands, there was several pages to fill...
Hoping for a good weekend!

All went well : http://cookracing.co.uk/index.php/8-rac ... tch-review

A special mention and thank you to the zone!

Thanks Steve! It would be rude not to come back with all the work you guys have done
The PBMW championship is trying to get more E30 owners back out on track, with a nifty power dependant minimum weight introduced this year, so people with the stock power aren't disadvantaged by not having expensive engine mods begrudgingly permitted in the rules. Last year the grids weren't too bad but at it's minimum we had just 13 (at Cadwell which is always a factor).
There's easily a few more years left in this championship. We had a blast, as you can see

Yep, 14th April at Donny. I'm hoping we get to do the whole season again, but with a house move that's optimistic, but we'll see!
About to go out and get the old exhaust off actually. I have an Ashley exhaust so hoping it's a bit lighter.

Not too bad, the Ashley exhaust gave 10 more hp at the wheels which was a surprise! Caught me out down the craners as it's now more ballsy
I'm 2 seconds quicker than last year. Putting that down to having analysed my footage, new tyres and of course the extra horses. I was getting up to 5th which never used to happen!!!!

10bhp is a pretty strong gain from an exhaust. Blimey. Did you do a power run?
A bit confusing how the car just let go like that? You should easily be able to take craners flat out mate. Lifting is probably what unsettled it but it sounded progressive or did you touch the brakes? Lucky it didn't roll going into the gravel sideways like that!

Yeah maybe I did lift? Can't recall. The tyres were brand new, and I probably aced Redgate so took more speed. My setup is crap, I need it corner weighted or something. Anyone you can recommend near you maybe? I can see visibly the arch has more gap between the tyre on one side than the other at rest, even though I've measured it (probably badly). On the same damper settings one side is harder than the other. Need to service the gaz struts really...
On the 10hp... yeah! My stock exhaust may have been worse for wear, there's pictures in the for sale section! Plus it was a really cold day, premium fuel at the circuit. Yeah we have a rolling road that follows us these days, as PBMW have gone to a power to weight chart. The more you've spent on your engine the more weight you need to run. To stop people needing to spend thousands on their engines.

I want to say 104 up from 98....? 104 rings a bell from the noise test at Cadwell. I'll make sure to clock it.Sidewaysbmw389 wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 10:34 pmHi miles .great to see you out again this year .just wondered what noise readings you been getting from the Ashley exhaust . Oh, I also finally got the Z3 short shift installed! Makes a pretty big difference as seen below
I haven't installed the other bushes that came from Cotswolds yet so it's all still a tad floppy.. But it's still better than it was.

It's been a while, but need to keep up the story so...
There's a fair bit of waffle how 2019 went
https://studio.youtube.com/video/3LYCGBr2pTI/edit
In reality we didn't do the full season as we've just bought a house, and that's expensive... but we're determined to go all over the country to various soft plays, beaches, parks and erm yes, race tracks
Next year the calendar looks great again, we have a Silverstone weekend (yes yes it's not amazing for road cars but it's still Silverstone damnit!), two doses of Donington, so looking forward to it all.
We also have a shiny new youtube url: http://youtube.com/cookracinguk - please subscribe if you haven't it will help with sponsors
