What are the sills like under the kit, and the floorpans/lifting points under the front carpets? We need some pics to give an accurate assessment...

Sounds like the sort of car that will sell for whatever some keen enthusiast is willing to pay for it, bearing in mind the level of work required.

Best to take plenty of pics, and stick it up on auction sites or here, with a description and see what it goes for...

I once bought a 1989 F-reg Sport which looked good for around £2,000, but it turned out to be a very rusty bucket indeed - so rusty, it even got a Hall of Infamy pic in the Zone's section on 'Rust'!

I started the repairs, then on a rainy February afternoon aquaplaned on a standing lake of mud and ice draining off a field onto a dual carriageway, put it into the central reservation crash barrier at 70 mph, bounced off that and whacked the rear quarter against a junction box on the other side of the carriageway, and that was the end of that - fortunately, the insurance co. paid out more or less what it had cost me, and just left with a bit of a stiff neck for a while afterwards!
