Hi I have a 1987 e30 baur convertible but boot won't lock and although the key works in the lock the latch does not move.Does any body know how to adjust.

Try pushing the latch with a screwdriver while the boot is open, you should see how it is meant to work.

I turn my key to the left and then to the right and it locks only depending which way up the key is ????????

Not a great deal involved in removing the latch completely, so that it can be serviced properly.
The only 'adjustment' possible is to part of the latch in the boot lid, which, if not touched since the car was built, is invariably in need of tightening up slightly.
