right, this will be a bit vague at th mo' but please bare with me.
leaving work today, i was siting in traffic when, baboom! steam everywhere and water on the road  . i had a quick look and seen a water hose had popped off, but the lug that its attatched onto has snapped and is still in the hose.
what i'd like to find out is if its a big or expensive job to replace the bit that has the lugs? i didnt pay too much attention as my main concern was getting home, and it was dark, but the bit seems to have 2 or 3 hoses coming from it and is attatched to the engine itself, though i could be wrong? its on a 318i m40 engine. and the cars 30 miles away so i cant go'n check anything just now

thanks for any help

M40 engines aren't worth a lot full stop, so what ever part you want , ( and I haven't the faintest idea), should be available for next to nothing.

the problem is that the renault is sitting on the drive in bits and the courtesy car's going back soon so i'm hoping its a pretty simple job

Drawings are from the ETK CD-Rom, which every E30 owner should have a copy of. Available of ebay, or there's someone on here who sells them for a couple of quid or so.
There's also an online version called realOEM or something similar.
