Hi everyone,

Just curious to see if anyone is running 16x8's? And if so what tyre size have you gone with?

The wheels I'm looking at are ET20 and my car is lowered 35mm all round. I've had a look on another forum and have seen people running both 205/40 and 205/45 with no rubbing issues supposedly. I don't want to have any serious arch work done, if any at all.

I know they would be a little stretched but from the looks of things it's the only way of getting around it.

Any pointers?

Cheers

Alpina used 225/45/16 on the 8x16 rears of a staggered set. That's with an et25 wheel. A 35mm drop won't be a million miles away from the ride height of an alpina car compared to an otherwise standard e30, that extra 5mm could be the difference between rubbing and not, but I think it would be fine.

205/40 is too small unless you're really low, 205/45 is getting better but 215/50 might be a better all round compromise imo.

In Hindsight in terms of the front arches they will need work, maybe a 215 would be more sensible....
