Always try and follow wiki guide and it recommends standard height springs from either H&R or Eibach I think..
Do these exist?? All I can find is min 30mm drop from these manufacturers. I don't want to jump on the lowering bandwagon for the sake of it as I refresh suspension
Stock height springs from H&R?

It does??Shutthatdoor wrote:Always try and follow wiki guide and it recommends standard height springs
E30s can benefit from a bit of sensible lowering, and I wouldn't be surprised if fully rebuilt suspension, featuring -30mm springs didn't turn out to ride at, or above, the thirty year old original version.

Thanks for feedback Brian - this is from wiki
'While performance upgrades are available, the E30 zone recommends Eibach or H&R springs of OEM height'
Which got me looking....

From what I understand, a 30mm drop is usually calculated from standard non-Mtech height, so only 5mm lower than OEM Mtech springs.

Food for thought. I've tried to google image Tourings with these springs, difficult to define as few before and afters. Seen some crap results, arse dragging etc amoung them. Looks a slippery slope to driving around shirtless and vaping. Think I'll swerve for now.jmc330i wrote:From what I understand, a 30mm drop is usually calculated from standard non-Mtech height, so only 5mm lower than OEM Mtech springs.

1) Tourings need cab. rear springs, not saloon. 2) As I said above, fit lowering springs to clapped suspension, and the results will be bad.

You did Brian and I've that advice in mind. When I can get the lot done I'll consider it, but just topmounts and new shocks for me in this sitting.Brianmoooore wrote:1) Tourings need cab. rear springs, not saloon. 2) As I said above, fit lowering springs to clapped suspension, and the results will be bad.
H&R do specify a touring set of springs at 30mm drop, I'll kindly ask them to keep them in Germany first thing tomorrow.

Confirmed that H&R don't make standard stance/height springs, maybe the wiki needs an edit for that statement above, for those like me who'll take it as gospel
