Vibration damper removal

how do you remove the Vibration damper once the bolts are out? Mine seems to be stuck, don't want to hit it just yet. Is there another way?

Did it fall through the rusty boot on to the ground?

I am stripping the engine down so everything else is off. I used a mallet and held on to it :) Not an issue in the end :D

I think the OP is referring to the vibration damper originally fitted to the front end of E30 prop shafts, and SexyLady is thinking about the one in the boot of cabs., but the answer is the same - they are both held in place only by the obvious bolts. The one on the propshaft no longer has a job to do, but the boot one is still required.
