hi all,

just bought a mtec2 steering wheel for my cab.

could anyone offer a way of fitting the wheel on dead central as everytime i try it just seems to be out a fraction.

more frustrating than being picky.

thanks in advance/

I had the same problem on mine and it's still slightly out, I wondered if it could be the steering tracking?

Trial and error. Fit the wheel without the nut, take it on a straight bit of road and adjust accordingly. Disclaimer: Don't try this with car in motion!

You can only change the wheel position one complete spline at a time, and, although the splines are quite fine (never counted them!), mI suppose it's possible that you can't get the wheel quite straight.
First thing I would do is to tape the steering wheel rim at the actual straight ahead position (rally driver style), and then to turn the steering to full lock each way, to see if it is even.
If it's not, then check the exposed length of thread on both track rod ends is the same, and make a small adjustment in the appropriate direction by screwing in one end and unscrewing the other exactly the same amount. All this will fine tune the straight ahead position, and allow you to get the wheel exactly straight.
