I need to put the rear of the car on Jack stands. I have 2 questions.
1. can I raise the car with a trolley Jack using the diff as a jacking point, or shoul I use the rear axel mount.
2.i assume the Jack stands need to be under the axel mount.
I appreciate this is a stupid obvious question but I'm new to car mechanics.
Raising the rear of the car question on jacking.

Dont put axle stands under the rear beam, it may push the bushes out of the beam, especially if they have been replaced recently. Jack the car up on the diff and place the axle stands under the beam bush bolts at either side, you wont damage the sills and you wont damage the bushes
