engine upgrade

Hi all I just bought a 1996 bmw 320i e36.

Now I would love to upgrade the engine like the engine out of the 328i.

Does anyone know of the most simple for more hp and cost.....

Any info would rock

The 320i and the 328i both run on ms40.1 ecu so you can simply swap over the engine and the car will start.
