Thanks for the reply, I'm in Manchester, I don't mind travelling and in fact have already spoken to them, one thing that put me off was that the lady I spoke to on the phone said they have never fitted one to an e30 with an electric roof that has worked perfectly afterwards ??
Anyone got any first hand experience ?

Yes, me!
I had my hood replaced by these guys, approximately, 4-5 years ago. The new roof is excellent, so I cannot fault them on that, but as they have admitted, they managed to knacker the electrical folding system, which took time and effort to get it working again.

Hi,
If you replace the hood replace the tension straps each side as they will be stretched. New straps are expensive but they will make all the difference in tensioning the hood and will aid the electric motor/gear box

Can you get the straps from Cotswold? How much are they?
Mine has had a new roof fitted by previous owner, don't know where
he got it from sorry, but it does not 'fold' correctly. The rear window was
reluctant to fold as well. I am near Manchester if you need some advice,
or vice versa!

I spoke to the Carhood people about the folding problem, and asked whether new straps were the solution. They reckoned, not always.....
