You know that with a lock rebuild kit you can rebuild the door locks to fit any key?

Yes, they are a BMW item so Cotswold would be good. It is a little bit fiddly but satisfying when it works. Effectively it replaces the entire lock.

The kit also includes the L shaped alloy piece on the back of the drivers door lock assembly, which is the part that suffers the most wear. Only available as part of the kit.
