As above, it's all pretty obvious, but the nuts, shims and threads are welded together by years of under-water-ness.

In the event that heat and WD40 will not allow me to remove the fittings, does anyone know where the threaded bolts originate on the floor of the folding top compartment that stick up through the two floor mounts of the main hinge: from the drawings it looks as though they are part of a reinforcement section under the compartment on each side...

Has anyone had to trash these fittings and replace?

any guidance would be helpful before I destroy everything!

I've never heard of these being seized. Suggest frequent applications of wd40 over a couple of days and and frequent taps with a nylon mash. Don't forget to take a count of the shims if the same roof is going back on.

Took my time, 3 out OK, one stud simply fell off with attached nut, rotted through - looks like a drill and tap job with whats left.

Replaced rotted away gas strut nipple on the frame as well, I think my car spent half its life outdoors with blocked drains in the stowage area, pretending to be a fish tank.

Surprisingly, the shims whilst rusty, are OK.
