Recently bought this and plan on putting it back to completely standard.

It's been painted, however the bodywork is the straightest I've seen on an E30 and the shell is very solid.

I've had to repair one of the bolsters (leather) and will be having the steering wheel recovered at Royal later this month. Wheel refurb is next, together with a standard exhaust.

One thing I noticed when replacing the rear door cards, is the seat base is foam and the upper is spring, is that correct for this car?

Not many pictures but will have more over the next few weeks.

When I bought it:

Thanks Mick,

This one is a keeper, just want to put it back as close to standard as I can.

I probably only need to use a car on the road a few times a month, so this fits the bill well.

Hopefully will be Mot'd at the end of the month when I next get a chance to get back to the workshop.

I've had two facelift cars and both have had foam base and spring upper rear seats. I really like the sports in red and glad you changed the mirrors! Original is definitely the way forward.

To be honest, I have never been too fond of red e30's but this was just too clean not to buy.

I was considering fitting rear headrests but thought I must need a specific rear upper with the necessary holes.

your seats are right-the base is a cinch to lift out with it being foam, whereas the seat-back is a hefty thing to remove.

you might find a piece of paper stapled to the underneath of your seat-base,this contains a list of the options your car was built with.

Rear headrests can be retro fitted to the existing seat without too much bother

New ticket yesterday with no advisories, really wasn't much to do after being off the road for five years - wheels being refurbished next week.

Haven't updated this for a while.

Given it a good service, changed a good few bits, interior still needs a bit of work on the leather and I'm still yet to get the refurbished wheels fitted.

Bit of final prep yesterday and then took the car for it's first decent drive - all was fine and is even colour coordinated with my house!
