iv'e owned this car for a year now, and have have just noticed the gearbox's code; 056100NW,which suggests a standard rather than a sport g/box.
of course,it could well have lost its original 'box years ago,but inputting the chassis no.(2860455) and looking at the options it was ordered with shows the 0206 code for the sport g/box is missing.
the rest of the expected "sport" options appear on the list,and the anthracite head-lining that usually nails it is also in the car.
Soni Pone's infamous 'UKM' sport thread (coincidently his car and mine were approx 50 cars apart on prod. line) lists the options his car was built with,and his car too seems to have the sport-gearbox option un-ticked.
any other sport -owners out there with cars that perhaps never had this option from new?

evening albert,what i take from reading up on these sport versions is that there were probably dozens of options available to choose from,but, it seems, there were a few core ones, common to all;
stiffer suspension,LSD,sport-seats,body-kit,etc. etc.... and,of course,a sport gear-box.
the most likely reason my car is minus a sport gearbox is,as with lots of cars,the orig. broke,or was pilfered or something.
but on my cars build-sheet,the gearbox option is missing,and a random look at a few other Sport restoration threads on here seems to suggest their cars too perhaps started life running a standard gearbox.
so is it a hard-and-fast rule that these things were,without exception,all churned out wearing a sport-gearbox?
