Hi,
I've recently been presented with an opportunity to buy a chromie in need of some TLC and I'm looking for a bit of advice/info with regards to values.
The car in question is a 3 owner 1986 chromie in Bronzit Beige, a 2 door 325i in manual. It looks fairly well specced with pop-outs and 15"bbs. It has a comfort houndstooth interior in cream.
The car has been off the road since 2003. It's running but in need of extensive bodywork. It needs a respray and rust in the usual areas needing sorting out. The engine runs sweet (120k), although this will need a full service and cambelt change etc. Due to being stood for such a long time.
My question is what is a bronzit 1986 2 door 325i manual chromie worth once restored to a nice standard? I can't find any for sale to compare against so would appreciate some figures to understand whether it is worth restoring or worthy of being fragged
Many thanks in advance!

That's what I'm also thinking, a decent respray would be around 3k I'd imagine.
What are 2 door manual 325i chromies worth anyway, with say 3 owners and 120k miles? Are there many of them about?
I'm trying to gauge whether it's worth taking on this project or whether it's worth just buying one that's up and running.

I bought a 1989 325i manual chromie cab 2 owners 140k perfect bodywork for £6.5k last year which I think was reasonable. I've seen a few for £10-15k since.
From what I see decent hard tops are going for about £4K-7K.

It all depends on how long you are going to keep it. Restoration to best standard, sell and make a small profit. Restoration and then keep for a few years and you can see a bigger return on your investment.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm planning on going down again this weekend to have a proper look around the car to find out the extent of rust and make a final decision on whether it'll be a project I will be able to handle given that I've already got an E30!
Will report back
