Sorry I wrote "6 years" in haste.
My BMW owners handbook for my 325i says......."renew toothed belt every second inspection II or every 4 years." It makes no reference to mileage.
My Haynes say change belt every 40,000 miles (60,000 Kms) or every 4 years.
