Just came across this local news, this is a convertible right? Bet it wasn't too pleasant.. Luckily the ground is quite boggy this time of year.

no, they don't have a rollover hoop....!
I'd be interested to learn what lead to that happening.

I hope the driver is ok after that crash, my guess would be traveling to fast to make the bend at windy corner the mountain road is a brilliant road I've rode on it many times when I've been over for the tt, don't forget on the Isle of Man where the national speed limit sign is ( the grey with black through) there is no speed limit so you can go as fast as you dare! I can tell you it's a weird feeling overtaking the police at over 100mph lol

Judging from the picture he's been heading from Douglas to Ramsey (not the TT course direction) as the outside of the bend in the Douglas to Ramsey direction has a gravel trap and a dry stone wall not too far back. If that's the case he's spun it 180 to be facing the other way coming off the road Also looks like he's slid and then at the last minute bogged down in the boggy ground and thats flipped him over..Gert_8 wrote:no, they don't have a rollover hoop....!

Virtually all of the mountain road is no speed limit but i think that windy corner is 50 or 60 mph, can't remember don't take the road that much.
