Hello everyone, it has been a while since I last logged in on here! And I am back in need of some advice. I am planning to put my car back on the road this year and having real problems finding an insurer that will touch me.

The car is a 320is (which no insurer can bloody find)with several modifications. I have had laid up insurance with Adrian flux for the last four years, and to put it back on the road they want nearly £1000.

I have just got off the phone to hastings, and they won't touch me because of the mods.

Can anyone recommend any good classic car insurers? A huge thank you in advance.

I have mine insured with Hagerty, or maybe it's Hegerty.
They seem very reasonable, but my cars are not modified.
Schadenfreude - the German's haven't got a word for that.

I tried Hagerty but because I am under thirty they won't insure me. I have done a quick search on gocompare and only one insurer will flux direct will insure me.

For £1005 8O 8O

Mine is with Footman James, used them for various old cars over the years and always been happy with the service. I seem to recall when I first bought my E30 and I was just under 30 (a decade ago!) that FJ wouldn't cover it and I went with Lancaster who would.

A-Plan were good for me when others would get funny about the modifications.

I'm with classic line insurance for around £300 a year with a few mods. I'm 26 and have used them for 2 years. I find it's always best to call rather than check online:01455 639 000

Thank you all for your replies, it is much appreciated. I have gone with Lancaster, who offered my fully comp for just over £400. All mods stated and an agreed valuation. I could recommend them more!

I'm 18 and to get insured on my 318i its £2.5k+, I really think its shocking how much insurance companies decimate young car enthusiast over nowadays.

I'm 20 and can't find a classic car policy that will insure me. Even though I drive and own another car

You need to be 25+ for most classic polices.

FJ also offer discounts to BMW Car club U.K. Members
I had to call them rather than an on line quote for insurance on my e30, but they were very good.

Problem with footman James classic car insurance, you don't keep your N\C bonus if that is your only car. And they don't give you N/C bonus on classic cars.

Graham skyes, was with for 4yrs changed to Adrian flux.

Get a quote from them.

Read the small print. Many people don't and get done when the shit hits the fan...

Have you tried Lancaster? I saw the other day that they were saying they could insure drivers of all ages for one classic car club.

I had mine insured on a classic policy with lancaster, insured for 3 years - awarded 1 yrs ncb

Needless to say I've not renewed, especially as their renewal quotes are 50% more than the likes of performance direct
