Isnt the lower section a separate piece welded on,maybe you could get good saloon ones and re use the cab lower section

The wings come as one piece and I think they are manufactured that way. You can make and weld on the bottom section, as that is where they rot.dave525 wrote:Isnt the lower section a separate piece welded on,maybe you could get good saloon ones and re use the cab lower section

Original E30 cab. wings are definitely manufactured in two pieces. The larger piece is identical to a saloon wing with a section chopped off, and the smaller section is an extended version of the missing piece. As said earlier in the thread, a saloon wing can be cut, and the cab. lower piece welded on, if you have a serviceable piece, or it's not difficult to fabricate a fairly close copy.Topblag wrote:The wings come as one piece and I think they are manufactured that way. The weld is hidden behind a trim piece, so no great welding skills are required. Pop rivets or small nuts and bolts could be used at a push.

Decided on saloon wings with an extra piece welded in to lengthen them, the originals are in self destruct mode at the bottoms
