Hi

Iv recently fitted some lowering springs they are 40mm front and 30mm rear.

im thinking of just putting my original springs back on as the ride is terrible and to rear is to low.

iv been told the rear looks low as the rear wheel arches are a lower profile on the facelift model which mine is been a 1993 convertible.

my car was originally a m40 318 audt but now has a m20 325i manual, will my original springs be ok in the front or would the weight of the m20 be to much for them.

dont suppose anyone knows the inside diameter of the rear springs as i know a guy selling some adjusters that sit under the spring the O.D of them are 60mm will the springs fit over them ???

cheers :D :D

I ran my old 318i touring with a 325i engine and lowered M40 suspension - it was a very early 318i touring, one of the very few fitted with 45mm struts from the factory.

It sat a little lower at the front with the 325i engine fitted (it was stupidly low anyway) and the ride was a bit bouncier, but it drove ok for the 3 years or so that I ran it. It's something I wouldn't do again just because I now know what a decent handling E30 feels like!
