Filled up yesterday at the local, usual "Super" fuel, drove out of the
petrol station, waited at the lights, and set off up the hill.

Car starts missing and won't pull, clears up a bit when fully warm, took the beast out today, same thing. Could this be lousy fuel, seems a bit of a coincidence, car was running perfectly into the fill up ( it was pretty empty).

Wondering about flushing it out.

How much did you put in?

it is wierd that it started happening just after a fill up but it could be purely coincidental.

I would go back wih a jerry can and fill up a couple of litres then i would inspect the petrol for water or any other problems.

flush it and put some V power in then see from there! :thumb:

Could you have accidentally filled up with diesel?
A petrol engine will run on diesel, just very badly, however i would have thought you would have noticed smoke from the exhaust.
Apart from that i would just think that the petrol could have had water in it as previously said.
I would drain the system, renew the fuel filter and try again.
If you can prove that the petrol had water in, you may be able to claim your money back from the petrol station.
However, dont rule out the fact that this could be an unfortunate coincidence and something else may have failed exactly at that point.

If the light wasnt on i doubt you would have sucked any debris in to the system from the bottom of the tank.
Yes, this is a bit weird, ive never heard of a contaminated batch of fuel.
It might be worth contacting the station and asking if they have had any complaints?

Gonna get a sample out of the tank and check it out before anything else.

Could just be a coincidence, as the symptoms don't necessarily sound related to fuel.

Looks like a freaky coincidence, the car is simply missing on one cylinder at certain revs, then it kicks in again, checked the plugs, all lovely biscuit brown, all HT leads appear OK, it has a new distributor anyway. Maybe there is a problem with one of the ancient and original injectors, time to fit my refurbished set and go from there.
