After some help guys girls my mates started a m50 conversion for me. Anyway long story i bought it as a plug and play conversion this was not the case the wiring was not plug and play.
Long story my mate has followed all the guides and and thinks he has the wiring perfect now hes checked and re checked. the car is cranking but getting no fuel or spark and the ecu casing is showing 12v,
anyone had this problem before he thinks the ecu is at fault ?
engine is a m50 none vanos ecu code 0261 200 402
car is a 1991 318 touring thanks

Is the 12 volts on the ECU case 'real' or just measured with a meter? Connect a small 12 volt bulb between the case and a good earth, or lightly brush an earthed wire against it and look for sparks to check.
Short answer is that the problem is whatever you wired wrong, which may or may not have caused further damage.
Are the two cables to the battery connected correctly. Red to battery + and brown or brown/orange to battery - ?
