bit late, but do you not have any cctv cameras around your area? any neighbours got any cams, with the amount of cctv cameras in britain watching us 24/7 something should have picked it up, even looking at potential ways they could of gotten away, and picking it up and just doing your own shit, freedom of info act you can view council cctv footage etc...

Ive knocked on doors of people living on the street, explored possible routes the scumbag may have taken, tried to follow up every lead reported to me but ive not viewed council cctv footage so i'll look into that thanks. To say im heartbroken is an understatement believe me. Theres only so much i can do on my own and im hoping/counting on sightings and any info anyone can help with.

I wouldn't bother looking at CCTV after this long, imagine seeing it on the footage, it would make me cry!

Engine is indeed uniquely marked so I'd know it if I saw it, All those built in house were marked up and dated. all stamped deep into the castings, head and intake too.

Damn shame Ant not trading no more. While the engine in mine was being built i remember seeing your touring (i think) at his workshop with some mahooosive turbo bulging out the bonnet. Good times. Im keeping an eye out for a good, clean shell to get started with. Fancy taking my time with it and just (as you say) build fort knocks around it in terms of security!

Thread revival alert!
Thought id take a punt and see what you think i can/should do...any ideas would be appreciated.
So in the last week, the wheels that were on my car (BBS Mahles) at the time of being stolen have been spotted in a local wheel/tyre shop. I mean what are chances of that...stolen in Ilford and the wheels appear IN Ilford?!
I know they are my wheels due to the distinct finish and set up (15", 5x130, 8 and 9j). Also, all the stamps on the face of the wheels are the same as when i had them...down to the way the power coating has covered the stamp wording and numbers etc...
I approached the shop and told the guy that these are my wheels and showed him pics off my phone etc and compared them. Firstly he tried to tell me they are 5x120 and destined to go on an E30 M3. Then he tells me they are a customers who had them powder coated by him and is due to collect them (they look no different to when i had them). Bare in mind the wheels were on display, in the shop window on the shop floor around other wheels for sale which were all 19" plus...
Pretty much left it at that and i informed the Police who visited the shop 3-4 days after id visited (and by which time the wheels had conveniently been "collected by the customer"and told me there would be no further action as i could not positively prove that these are the same wheels.
Question is, how can i prove these are my wheels that were stolen with the car?

Given the Poolice won't do anything, and I dare say probably can't be bothered too, I doubt there is much you can do. Seriously annoying though i'd imagine.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
name the shop which was handling the wheels that is a good lead and in ilford everyone knows who owns motors.Giggz wrote:Thread revival alert!

Is it safe to assume that 5 years after the theft of your car, the wheels could possibly have been removed straight away and subsequently gone through a multitude of owners?
Or is it reasonable to say the shop has something to do with the theft?
This kind of lack of justice makes me sick all the same.....

What shop was it? find out the owners name/ names and do some digging, facebook social media etc, have a scout at his mates/ acqaitances and see if anything comes up, very much doubt they would be that stupid as to advertise it for sale, no doubt hes sold it on to his customers/ mates etc..
