How much work is involved with an engine swap?
What else needs swapping apart from the following:
- Engine and loom
- Clutch and gearbox
- Brakes

Also how much would a job like this usually cost, labor wise?

I am just wondering whether its worth going for an original 325 or going for the shell regardless of engine and doing an engine swap.

You'll also need diff/prop, front suspension and small things like the 6 cylinder coding plug for the cluster. It soon adds up! With the price of a decent 2.5 engine and the work involved I think you'd be better off finding a decent 325.

I honestly wouldnt be doing the work myself, i would be willing to pay someone to do it.
Why did they make these beautiful E30's in a 1.6??????????????????

So that they could maximise revenue by offering the vehicle at a range of price points.
