Guys, after a little advice- my wipers seem to have a mind of their own when I keep accidentally hitting the stalk when starting the car, if I knock them on to intermittent then they keep then randomly turning on, stopping halfway, moving again a little moreand generally just p!ssing me off when they shouldn't be doing anything.
I'm guessing it's an issue with that large relay in the fuse box, but they don't seem to be the cheapest or easiest to get hold of, and I don't want to just source another one and that not be the issue. Is there any way of testing the relay with a multimeter to see if it is the problem or not?
Thanks in advance :)

Particularly if the wipers work OK when on normal or fast speed, the issue is likely to be the metal disc inside the wiper motor casing that controls the parking function; the grease there hardens over time and prevents proper contact giving rise to the sort of fault you describe. I had exactly the same problem which was cured completely by cleaning up and lightly re-greasing that disc.
