any help with this latest problem would be gratefully appreciated.

basically i've just completed this conversion on a customers car and converted it to manual , after doing the auto to manual wiring and getting it to turn over it won't start , i have no fuel pump priming and the icv isn't buzzing or any relay's clicking when the ignition is on :?

this engine is currently running the older two rows of plug pins on the ecu and sensors in the bell housing . it seems like the engine is getting no power feed maybe from the ecu ?

just pondering is it something i've overlooked :?

also i have this round female plug that's on the same sheath as the oil switch plug but don't see where it goes ?

Mmmm! You did use the older type flywheel for the conversion, with the pin in it, didn't you?

Just realised, it's a complete engine swap, not a auto engine to manual engine, so that probably doesn't apply.
You say that no relays click when you turn the ignition on. Are you sure the DME relay (white, five pins) doesn't? Pull it out and plug it back in with the ignition on.

ok thanks will give the dme relay another check , yes it's a full conversion with the correct box and flywheel, two sensors in the box .do you know what the loose blue wire could be in the pics above ?

would be nice to get it running without converting to motronic 1.3 hence the ecu question as i only have a 320i baur at the yard for a parts bin .

Mick I have a few bits knocking around in my garage, inc a M20 (b20) flywheel off a facelift I broke many moons ago. Pm me if I can help- you have helped me out with a couple of part over the years :)

well there is no clicking of the dme relay and we've changed the old metal one for a new one with plastic white cover and still nothing :?

In that case, check that ignition switched 12 volts+ is reaching the appropriate pin on the C101 (green wire) and the appropriate pin on the ECU.

well the job is an hours drive away and the customer has gone off shore for two weeks so nowt can be done till he gets back .

Hi its my car mick has been working on.

Iv checked the green wire at both sides of the c101 plug and im getting 11.5v engine side and loom side my battery has been sat a while.

Then i unplugged the ecu plug and tested all the ports im getting 11.5v at port 1 according to the pin out diagram on the zone wiki.

So any ideas where i go from here and what to try next
