Steve, I'll be in Lilleshall at the weekend. Are you likely to be about? Might be in the E30 if I can sort an MOT in the week... so probably the E34!

Just got back from SM Autos, Steve undertook a fair bit of work for me for my MOT and I have to say that I'm really happy with it.

Really good price too and a great deal, sorted my exhaust out as well so now it sounds like an E30 again! Can't fault any of the work and would highly recommend him to everyone on the Zone, and above all he got my car through the MOT for another year of driving! Cheers Steve.

im no where near local to you but it might be a good trip to come by and say hello and get my diff sorted as its whinging like a bitch!!

am i right that it could be the bearings in the diff?? how much would it cost to replace them?

Do you do rebuild auto geaboxes or have a 4HP22 switchable box for sale? I am in Brecon Powys so not far away. Good luck with your new venture.

No i don't rebuild auto gearboxes as it's a specialised job.
Your best bet would be a secondhand unit, I don't have one i'm afraid, i'm sure if you put a post in the wanted section you would have some luck.

are you anywhere near the a41 mate drive a wagon and go to north wales a lot i use the a41 as a cut through to nth wales in the wagon will pop in if you are anywhere near

I have just got back from picking my car up from S M autos.

Steve has been such a great help with the car, no job was to small or to big!!
His prices are very very reasonable and has saved me a small fortune for alot of work that he has done on the car. He always keept me updated with the progress and didnt mind all the little extras I was asking him to do along the way.

He even come to pick me up from the train station!! What a star!!

I can highly recomend him to anyone looking to have any work carried out on their E30.
Its nice to know that there are mechanics who knows these cars inside out. Rather then these dodgy mechanics that need a computer to tell them whats wrong with the car!!

Thanks again Steve, the drive home was great, nice to have some power under my right foot again!!

Just stumbled across this thread.

I had my E30 M3 parked in Trench the other weekend, and noticed a car stop, turn around and leave a note on my windscreen. Guess what it said?

SM Autos! Nice one mate. If I am ever stuck I shall certainly look you up.

Had a run across to check out SM Autos the other week as it was only 10 miles from me. He's no longer there to let you all know. The guy now in this unit said he moved a year or so back to work for someone else. Might save you a journey!
