All four door E30s that have OE front electric windows have the wiring for the rear windows at least as far as a round socket in the rear door hinge pillars. About half of all these, in my experience, have the loom from here into the door ready to connect to the motors and switches.
Actually converting the rears from manual to electric is very simple and obvious.
You will need four switches, rear isolator switch, electric lift mechanisms, door cards, and possibly the looms into the doors + a craft knife to make the extra cutouts on the front console.

Are the rear doors / windows on tourings able to be converted, it's just I don't think I have ever seen a touring with leccy rears.

Couple of mine have - but they won't born with them.Widge wrote:Are the rear doors / windows on tourings able to be converted, it's just I don't think I have ever seen a touring with leccy rears.
No problem in fitting them, and the loom into the doors is sometimes there, but, now you come to mention it, I don't think I've seen one as standard either. Certainly none of mine (six) did.

Cool so it can be done. I'm looing for a tourer at the mo, and it's one of those niggles that in an otherwise kitted out car the rear windows are manual.

I think electric rears were a factory fit option. Mine has electric rears (as stated on the build sheet), and my breaker has the wiring to the rear doors, but not in them.

Only cars that came with electric rear windows was 320i and 325i se in 4 door form (obviously!), all others was a Ԛ£350 option, bit strange really as the 325i touring in se form you had to pay for it.
I bought the motors/mechs from e-bay for a penny, plus Ԛ£10 postage, keep an eye on there, as they appear quite often, also keep an eye out for someone breaking a 4 door se on here. Worth giving jonb a shout too.
