N/S front door not closing

Hello all,

The passenger side front door on my 2dr e30 isn't closing.
When i try close the door it just bounces off as the latch on the door isn't closing properly.

Is this a common problem and is there a solution?

Sounds as though the catch in the door may have got stuck in the closed position.

Try flicking it to open with a screw driver.

It's easy enough to pop it out. I'd do that and have a look at it, give it a birthday (lubricate etc). If that doesn't work pop a new one in.
