Greetings all... Newbie here considering an e30 project.
A couple of questions:
1. Is anyone daily driving their e30?
2. Is it reasonable to think I can find one that I could daily drive, or at least close? (I hate my hybrid)

hi, i used to drive my 2.7 sport daily for a few years a while back, never had any problems,
you can drive any 30 daily (m3/alpina/hartge etc) regardless of its age or model.
anything is better than a hybrid.

Makes even better if that tank is of LPG rather than petrol!pk1976 wrote: Manage about 220 miles to a tank.
The cost equivalent of 45+ MPG and engine wear greatly reduced.
DIY conversions are easy, and on a simple engine like the M20, an easily be done for the order of £200 - £300, using largely second hand components from ebay, or by buying a cheap ready converted car with most of the right bits, removing its LPG system, and either scrapping the donor, or selling it on.

I used to drive my 318is everyday in heavy traffic and it never let me down!
As long as the cars maintained and all perishables like pipes and hoses are replaced I don't see why not!
It's all about keeping on top of the maintenance IMO!

I daily'd my 325i for about 4-5 years, put 40,000 miles on it, original engine never missed a beat. It's off the road now for a long awaited restoration but I daily my e28 m535i in its absence. 80's bmw's are the perfect balance of refinement and simplicity, power steering, electric Windows, mirrors etc, fuel injection, abs......all these little things make it more than capable of being a comfortable daily but it's still archaic enough mechanically to keep its solid, old school driveability and handling.
Of course this is all providing the car is well maintained with quality parts. It can be costly to keep them perfect, but what you spend in maintenance and fuel you'll get back in value stability and smiles per mile!
