Rev counter needle went up to 3,000rpm and stayed there now its dropped back down and its not working,what does this take a signal from?

C101 pin 9, The black wire out of the ECU into the blue connector connected to the instrument cluster pin number 7

Weird behaviour from the tacho. is often a faulty SI board of the type with Lithium batteries.
