Hi all please can someone shed some light on my problem, I brought a E30 325 cab a week ago.when I got it home it started to over heat on tickover and I noticed that the fan was not kicking in. I have since replaced the fan switch and the relay. And no change. So today I put the switch in boiling water and still the fan is not working. But it works when I bridge it out. Please can someone help as it is driving me crazy. It has had a m52b28 upgrade done. If this helps.

Cheers a™aaa»

I have re wired the relay as it was before. But I can't be 100% that is was right, as I didn't see it running. Because the I brought it home, it was not working, Do you know of a wiring diagram for relay ?. No not checked for continuity yet, because I thought that if I was bridging it then it would have continuity. Maybe not I am a newbie to all this car stuff. Thanks for the reply.

If you bridge it directly and it run I think the switch has broken.

Or there is a resistor in the fan that regulated slow and high speed fan that may be broken?

Seems that the original wiring might not be correct.
Does it look tidy, or a right mess?
Is the relay and thermoswitch wiring completely new, or adapted from the standard aircon wiring as recommended?
Link pins 30 and 87 of the relay socket and see if the fan runs.
