replacement steering linkages from newer cars?

Is there any BMW breakers on here that could try a couple of things out?

At the moment, we have the Danthe linkage which works well, but the hassle of that is getting the e34 uj's

I was wondering if someone has tried using the linkage from newer models of cars - such as:
