Adjusting CO pot. or bypass doesn't require any special tools, other than a gas analyser, in spite of what that link says, BUT it should never need adjusting, and can only be set to the correct position on an engine that is in perfect condition and adjustment, which presumably yours isn't, otherwise the CO wouldn't need adjusting.
If the CO is incorrect, find out why, don't make an adjustment to compensate.

Thanks for that... but I need it adjusted as it has been adjusted wrongly before I got it. As per the link it requires the special tool and a gas analyser , I have the analyser, but not the tool. If the tool is not required, why does it have a reference to the tool in the link?

Found it, just short all three pins together, then set base idle.

That is for an M3.

And is for the idle speed, not the CO.

The title and all your posts have asked about CO adjustment.

You then posted a link to idle speed adjustment (on an M3).

I was just pointing out what seemed to be indiscrepencies.

Now that you have said what engine you have, perhaps you could try and make it clear what the problem is and what you are trying to achieve. Then the zone gurus may be able to help.

Thanks, but I don't have a problem any more.
As per co/ idle adjust. section 13-58, above. According to the above , the process for setting the co, is preceded by checking the base idle.
Set base idle by jumping the 3 pins on the TPS and adjusting the brass screw. This sets the base idle on the M20 2.5l engine.
I can then set the co adjustment , using the ega, knowing that the base idle is correct. M3 part was only highlighting the 3 pin jumper on the TPS, which applies equally to the M20.

All I initially wanted to know was if anyone had heard of used a special tool 13-4-010/020?
Which I do not need now anyway 'cause I made my own.
Hope the above clarifies for the gurus.
