Hi,

I cant find a post on this, so will do one.

Is there any way of making the centre colsol, dash etc. look like it does when its wet! My interior panels look great wet when im washing them, but when they dry they look less black, and not new!

Any ideas? Just polish?

Many thanks in advance. :)

When i went in nav768 cab, his whole interior was matt black and very shiny; i think it was painted or lacqured with something?

Wet and shiny..? Yuk, it looks fake, nice matt black is best, and they would have been matt when new too.

Same with leather, most people think the shiny look is nice and new, when in fact leather is not shiny at all when new!

Okay, this probably sounds like a hack solution, but it works. I used to use black shoe polish on the dash of my '72 2002. I had the same "not quite black" appearance even after it was thouroughly cleaned. The shoe polish, massaged-in with a brush did wonders to turn the dash to a rich matte black again. Lasted for years.

I've never tried this only my E30, but the idea is the same. If you're E30 dash is like mine, it's not actually black, but rather a dark grey (don't ask me why), so you'll need to use grey shoe polish. Also, make sure to remove any excess polish so it doesn't rub off every time you touch the dash.
