Hi

I am going to be replacing my fuel tank as it leaks above halfway, it has been on my to do list for a while now.

It is a 325i cab 89

I'm looking into 3 options not sure which to go for so any advice appreciated

A good condition oem second hand 1

A brand new pattern part gsf 1

A brand new pattern part ebay 1

I plan to keep my car for many years so would like to go with the best option. Has anyone used pattern part tanks would you recommend them?

Thanks

Gill

Brand new off eBay........ I have fitted 3 in the last year. quality and fit are very good, and they are also the cheapest option.

Original tanks all seem to be suffering the same fate of rusty inlets and mid seam.

with the new tanks i normally paint them black with stone chip and epoxy paint and heat cavity wax into the seam.

I have one of these ATP tanks on my car. Fitted into the standard holes without needing any modification. Seems well made, although I gave mine another coat of paint, just in case.

How long it will last, I don't know, but it did nothing to not inspire confidence.

Edit - just noticed someone mentioned plastic tanks - I missed that bit. Not seen any plastic ones though.
