Hi, I have changed from the early headlights to the later smiley ones and the problem I have is when I put the side lights on, not only does the side lights light up but the main light comes on aswell but it is dimmer than dip beam. Is there a different way to wire the later lights to the older loom so I get side lights?

This is a feature of both lights.
It happens on most 'older' cars....
You could probably wire a way around it?
Where in Cambridge are you by the way?
I live in Orwell, when I'm not at Uni....

Why would you want to "repair" something that's working as it should?
