E89 z4 2.0 s line

Anyone have any information on these? I had been looking at e92 m3's, but can't make the man maths work on things like tyres and brakes. I wouldn't want to run one with worries that it couldn't be kept as it should.

The other day while filling up I spotted this at a local garage:



2012, low miles, 8 speed auto, extended leather and well presented for £17k. I have it booked for a test drive on Saturday, and providing the missus can drive it (worried about the length of the bonnet), it might well be coming home with me.

Anything I should be looking out for? The internet tells me it has an n20b20 engine, are these chocolate like other modern BMW mills?

Wouldn't something like this be a better bet/ cooler/ more likely to appreciate/ more fun/ less likely to drop off a cliff value wise in the near future etc etc

It's 17 years old. I have 2 e30's, I don't need another old car on the drive. I don't need massive amounts of fun, just something modern and comfy to cruise around in that keeps the missus happy

Surely them wheels are not factory? They just look out of place on z3 and at £19000 with 90000+ milage I would look elsewhere too

They are E46 m3 17's. Really don't suit the car

They are quite large cars, but look better than the Z3's in the flesh. Convertibles too!.....

Z4 alpina if you're thinking of going down that road. They're reasonably priced too...

Funnily enough, I saw a Pina on English plates 2 nights ago. Nice tram, not worth the hassle of bringing into the island

Well I liked it quite a lot. Even though it's the baby engine it pulled very well, had a decent turn of speed and span the speedo quicker than my m30 engined e30. Handling wasn't fantastic, very sharp turn in but not enough damper/Spring rate to contain the mass. Easy to upset the chassis.

On closer inspection it wasn't as clean as I first thought. Horrid filler job on the rear bumper that had blown and a very worn interior for a 15k mile car. The salesman said the lady who owned it before was on the large side. They have agreed that the body work would be sorted and guaranteed by BMW and the interior dyed.

I'll sleep on it and have a think.

If you can find a mint one, the previous Z4 3.0Si Coupe is a much better idea.
