Gearbox question

Im running a B20 Cabby with a 4.10 diff which is still a little revy for my liking. I have a 3.91 diff that i will be fitting in due course (once overhauled).

I have a 240 gearbox on it which works fine, but would a 260 give any a little more power (mainly on first gear as the cabby is a heavy beast esp with the hardtop on).

any input would be welcomed.

Well, no answer from me, but if you need a 260 box, I have one sitting doing nothing

I think 240 and 260 is similar except that 260 is much stronger.

appreciate that Rav, i may look to take you up on that if this will help..first gear on the cabby is almost useless...even after dropping down from a 4.27!

Afaik, the 240 and 260 box are identical ratios.

But the B25 sport box (I think it's a 260 with different part numbers) has shorter ratios on 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

From consideration of the wiki the 260 box has higher ratio on 1st but the rest are very similar to the 240.

Will a 260 get longer throw on first?or is it the other way round?.. Hmm
