So firstly it's clear that the black plastic surround/retainer needs to be unscrewed. Once removed, what then?
I'm going to try polishing mine up with a rotary buffer to see if I can save a few shekels....

Might depend on the exact model, but you can remove the fog light lenses without removing the black plastic housing. Only advice is use WD40 on the screws 5 mins before hand to loosen them up. I didn't do this and the screwheads sheared off in the housing which meant I had to take the valence off to fit a new housing.
