I have a set of standard 14" BBS' on the cabby and am looking to replace them all in the next couple of months.

i can see that Rainsport 3's are given the thumbs up in the wiki..is this still the case?..whats the best size for me to go for 185 or 195?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

195/65 was used on later cars

185/65 or 195/60 will also be fine

Inspired by this thread another recent one, I decided to treat my E39 to a couple of Rainsports, to replace the Falkens on the axle that my wife decided one would look better with a large wood screw through the edge of the tread of one of them!
Haven't seen any serious rain with them yet, so can't comment on performance yet, but I have noticed one thing very different about them.
The sidewalls are incredibly soft and pliant. The Falkens took real effort to mount on the rims, having to struggle to keep one side in the well while the other side went over the rim, but for these Uniroyals I didn't even have to fire up the tyre changer. I clamped the rim on the turntable, and the tyres went straight on with just the tiniest of assistance from a tyre lever.
Mounting these at the side of the road with just a couple of screwdrivers would be a doddle.

The previous RainSports were excellent so I daresay the new version is even better.

Agree with Brian's comments about the sidewalls on the Falkens but I've found the latest ZE914 works well on an E30. My summer BBS currently sport a set I bought a couple of years ago. They wear well too. Never really liked the old ZE912 - that was even stiffer and felt like plastic IMO.

I have 912's on the e24

They were scary in the rain. Took them off 2 weeks ago and put on some conti Sport Contact 3's (made in 2016) much much better in the rain
