No dash lights

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas why the dash lights are not coming on, all the service lights do just not the ones behind the speedometer, rev counter, fuel and temp guages

I have changed the bulbs also

How about the heater panel, clock/OBC, cigarette lighter, ashtray, etc?

Have you tried rotating the light switch clockwise?

Nothing on the obc, heater controls or dash cigarette lighter works,I've tried rotating it Yeah, it basically everything that's ment to come on with my headlights just doesn't so my theory at the moment is that maybe the pull headlight switch just isn't sending power to the instrument lights, only thing I can think of since all the fuses all over are OK and I've had the wiring harness out and continuity is all there

So ALL the dash lights are out, not just the instrument cluster ones. Can't give accurate replies on incorrect or incomplete data.
Pull out the rear ashtray, extract the bulb and its holder, and short the brown/white wire to a good body earth (handbrake securing nut) with the lights on.
Does this make the dash lights work?

Just shorted the wire out and it didn't bring the dash lights On

Sure you shorted it to a good earth?
Are the number plate lights working?

Yeah shorted right to the handbrake nut, and the number plate lights seem to be working Yeah.

If the number plate lights are working, it eliminates any fuse and lighting switch problem, and power should be getting to the dash lights as well. There's a joint or two inside the loom, but these are all in the dry, and shouldn't give any problems.
Perhaps your handbrake bolt is being insulated by paint? - try another earthing point; ideally battery negative.
Take the glovebox access panels off, pull out the four pin radio plug from the accessories socket, and check for 12 volts power where the grey/red wire was plugged in, preferably with a bulb between the socket pin and the nearby earthing point where all the brown wires go.

Just pulled up a wiring diagram and linked the permanent live into the light switch and the output to the lights and everything has come on fine and the dimmer works, gonna order a new switch

That doesn't make sense if the number plate lights were working. It runs from the same section of the switch as the dash lights.
