I'm taking my 325i chrome cabby back to original. It's currently got 14" bottletop alloys which weren't the originals.

I'm going to get BBS RZ alloys. Anyone have an opinion on which is the best option 6Jx14"or 7Jx15". I assume I can replace the BBS centre caps with BMW ones easily.

Also does anyone have any BBS originals for sale?

I thought 15" BBS were the standard fit for the 325i. with 205/55R15 tyres.

Your all incorrect. 14" wheels were standard. I believe 14 and 15 inch cross spokes were optional and 14" bottle tops were standard on a 325i convertible.

325i saloons came standard with steel wheels.

I think that the wheels were changed at some point in the past.

Just not sure which to go for, the ride is a bit wallowy with 14's and the back end was all over the place yesterday in the wet so I'm thinking of the 15"X 7J Options. I assume this won't be a problem?

Put 15" bbs alloys on for good ride and looks. If you want to know what came from factory take you vin number to BMW and they can tell you.

If you want to be original, as you said, then you must have 14" bottle tops on, as this is what it came from the factory with. 6J, 195/65 HR 14
The BBS RZ's were a dealer fitted accessory, 14" & 15" and not from the factory on chrome convertibles.
As Blitz says, the saloons (even 325i) came on steel rims 5.5 J, 175/70 R14 as standard.
Incidentally the bottletops were made by BBS.

That's complicated things a bit, guess I'll have to compromise on the originality... I like the RZ alloys a lot. I'll keep the bottles for show

And about 2/3 of "BBS" cross spokes weren't. Style 5 alloys were sourced from three different manufacturers, which included BBS.

The only way to know what you car was originally supplied with is to look up one of the on line VIN decoders, or to give yout VIN to a BMW dealer and ask for a print out of the original spec.

I too like the RZ's a lot. Have a set on the car, 15" on new Continentals.
Had my car from new in 86, have the original 14" bottletops on new Continentals, keeping for originality.
My bottletops are BBS, as cast into rear of alloy.
My RZ's are also BBS, as cast into rear of alloy.
