Hi guys,

Calling all convertible owners with m20 engines...!
8) 8)

My cabby is (I think), had a 35mm drop and I intend to keep the drop but improve the suspension and feel while on the road, not so bumpy. Is there a way to keep the drop and still get a nice feel on the road.? Or, am I just asking the impossible?

Thanks, tripper

35mm drop should give no comfort problems at all, if achieved with 'quality' components.
What make of springs and dampers do you have? What tyre size are you running?

Hi Brianmoooore,

My rims are 16" on standard bilstien shocks and eibach springs, can I get a better set up?

Thanks, tripper

Assuming the dampers are B4s, then that shouldn't be the problem.
I suspect the problem is the wheel diameter. With 16" rims, you are probably running an aspect ratio of 40 - 50, effectively removing a good part of one of the suspension components responsible for comfort, the tyre side wall.
I know from experience that going from the 65 profile for 14" rims to the 55 profile for 15" rims results in a significant reduction in ride comfort, so going lower profile again is only going to make things worse.
Roll on to when fashion changes again, and we get tyres with decent sidewalls back.

are bushes in good condition to?

my 16" alpina rides nicer than the 15" OEM cross spokes. reason being the tyres available in the correct size for 16" had softer sidewall
