In an ever more frenzied attempt to bankrupt myself I'm fitting M Coupé trailing arms, driveshafts, diff and brakes (plus the odd other part like prop, g box and engine) to my little 318is.
I'm going to weld on the little tangs for brakes lines so they'll all go on the same as my current M3 stuff, fit the M Coupé brakes (mahoooosive!), E30 rear beam etc.
When it comes to wheels, I understand I'll need some 17"s to go over the brakes (bummer - wanted 225/45/16's and can't afford compomotive's).
What width/offset wheels are best and what tyres will fit? (I don't mind 'massaging' the car with a hammer or arch roller - it's not going to be exactly standard after all this anyway!)
A friend has some E36 BK racing Alpina copies with Pirelli P Zero Nero 225/45/17's fitted (nice tyres). Will these fit?? I like the idea of looking like evry other E30 with Alpina copies so the car looks a bit STD from the outside.
Another wheel I like the look of is the BBS Split rim from the E36 328i sport. Will these go on/rub/do my head in?
I intend to use spacers on the front behind the M Coupé 315mm front disks, use the Coupé's calipers and use E36 wheels on the front too. I investigated using E46 M3 disks but WOW they're pricey! Ԛ£146 each plus have to get calipers. Ouch.
Anyone know this? Jordan I think it is - you run this set up don't you?
Many thanks.
Jai

315mm..ain't that about the same size as a E36 M3? If so then you should be able to barely fit 15" rims on it. 16" should really fit anyway.

Yea, same brakes as an E36 M3...
You reccon 16"s will fit?? Tried some at the scrappy and the caliper fouled the wheel a bit. They were the std ish E36 16" 10 spokes (5 rounded double spokes). Mate has the same on his std 323i E36.
Any 16" these brakes will go under? If not, back to the original question.
Though you'd all be able to tell me about tyre sizes in a second..
Thanks for reply's in advance..

then 15" will fit as long as the spokes don't go inward to clear the caliper.

jaistanley, I like the BBS E36 328is split rims (7.5 fronts and 8.5 rears?)and they are reasonably priced and would also like to know if they'll fit. I plan to you use E30 M3 running gear, maybe with coilovers.
Has anyone tried these on
?

Wanna buy some rear trailing arms with 280mm disks, 5 stud and new ish driveshafts from an M3 then?? I have to take mine off soon to fit the roadster ones.
Remember the M3 has a different hub offset so needs slightly different wheel offset to the roadster/coupé.. I have a feeling E30 M3 wheels will stick out on my roadster arms (not sure though-that's what I'm asking!)
The M3 EVO can definately take 15"s?? Sure doesn't look that way, the disks are HUGE compared to my old ones (280mm E30 M3 ones) and they fill the 15" E30 M3 BBS's I have. Still, I've seen some big brakes under Compomotive wheels as they have the 'outward' spokes you're talking about on some models. A friend has some 315mm disks under his Lotus 15" wheels using High-Spec calipers.

Wheels: Anything with a dish dude
Will the hub be situated differently than a standard e30? Further in or further out? Would help out on tyre size and wheel offset, unless you're sorting the arches as well.
