So I got the Sport Evo weaves mated to some rubber today - and I have a VERY slight rub going over speed bumps, at the rear.
Haven't had much time to check out the front clearance yet.
Is there any way to find a little extra clearance..without using a hammer?
Cheers,
Gus

The OPs car has E30 M3 5 stud iirc. Mine runs 205/55 tyres and they are close to the rear arch.magpie wrote:i'm running 225 45 16 tyres on the rears of my 318is have done for years without a problem

You might find that it is the lip of the rear arches, the front half of the lip is rolled but the rear 50% is only turned 90 degrees.
On mine I did have to roll the lip back due to the combination of wheel width and offset.
I think it is only the E36 compact arm and hub that has no effect on wheel track if combined with E36 41 offset wheels.
All the other 5 stud methods made the track wider with the Z3 combination being the worst iirc.
Using M3 hubs on a stock body E30 leaves you looking for about a IS30 wheel for the offset to be the same as before the swap right?
Is my memory right in thinking it puts 10mm on each side?
Can someone confirm that is correct? been a while since I added it all up for each of the hubs.
Edit - just checked and it is 5mm per side extra for the M3 hubs v stock 325 hubs, 10mm total track increase.

I had arch bother when using 10mm spacers on Hatrges with 225/40/16 tyres so now use 5mm, on a prefacelift which has more arch lip
I would just roll the arches

Good point - probably the easiest thing to do. Will do some further looking to see exactly where it's rubbing

If you do roll the inner flange clean the flange up properly, check it for rust creeping below the paint and treat it, paint the arch lip before rolling and seal up after with seam sealer.
Too many people (and some companies that should know better) just roll them over on the dirt and then wonder why their arches rot out.
