Hi guys,

Buying a 1990 320ISE and the guy says it does not have central locking, however it is so well equipped with every option other than cruise, I find this unlikely. So does it have central locking? And if so is it common for it to stop working?

Thanks

IIRC all UK E30s from 1988 onwards had central locking though you could delete it as an option if you wished.

Locking faults are reasonably common - have a look in the Wiki.

There are a LOT of inaccuracies in that article, however, the page dealing with locking problems is more accurate: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... g_problems
The red/black wire mod. will cure 2/3 of locking problems, but should be done anyway, even if it not the cause of the problem.

Find the three red/blacks going to the back of the A pillar plug, looking through the speaker hole. Cut them all away from the plug, and solder them together.
Don't confuse the one red/brown for a red/black.
